International Fieldwork in Costa Rica/Panamá
Students will spend 4 days in Costa Rica and 5 days in Panama during Spring Break learning about biodiversity, sustainability, conservation, and the environment. Students will listen to lectures and interact with students at the Universidad de Panama, conduct field research. Students will learn about Panama's unique impact on the planet’s biodiversity and the country’s commitment to protecting the environment. Students will learn about the current political dynamics of the Panama Canal. They will also learn about the consequences of land degradation and soil erosion on the current state of the canal. Students will also volunteer at Banco de Alimentos Panama for 3 days. Each participating student will receive a $500 scholarship for this trip.
