NGO Fieldwork in Hawaii
Students will spend 10 days in Hawaii. You will teach "Introduction to College" workshops to incarcerated male and female youth for the Hawaii Department of Education. The pre-requisite course for this trip for undergraduate students are PLS 3041 (Summer),  PLS 3175 "NGOs & Social Service Outreach" (Fall) and the pre-requisite course for MPA students is MPA 5605 "Criminal Justice Politics & Administration" (Fall). The state of Hawaii is proactively recruiting university graduates form California. See the job opportunities hereParticipating students will enroll in CLS 4990 and earn 3 units of credit during the Spring Semester 2024. 

Total Trip Cost: $2,400. Each selected student will receive a $1,000 scholarship for this trip, which means the total trip cost will be $1,400. The trip cost includes airfare, lodging, group meals, and insurance. See the trip hotel below.This trip is contingent on the official approval of the campus provost.

$1,400 Trip Deposit Due October 6 by 5:00 p.m. (drop off check to Beatriz in the Political Science Office).
