                                 Fieldwork in Costa Rica/Panamá
This trip is designed for ENV and PLS students. Students will spend 4 days in Costa Rica and 5 days in Panama during Spring Break. Students will do volunteer work and learn about biodiversity, sustainability, conservation, and the environment. Students will learn about Costa Rica and Panama's commitment to protecting the environment. Costa Rica is globally recognized for giving their ecosystems legal standing. In Panama, students will learn about the current political dynamics and architectural history of the Panama Canal. Students will visit the Embera Tribal Village. Students will volunteer at Bancos de Alimentos Food Bank in Panama. The total trip cost is $3,000. Each participating student will receive a $500 scholarship for this trip making the total student cost $2,500. Interested students should complete the Interest Form below. Trip participants will enroll in PLS 3175-01 (34928) for the Spring Semester. The trip is the course. You will receive a permission # for PLS 3175 from Dr. Reese after you complete the Interest Form. Students will be selected on a first come, first served basis.
